The story follows Sławoj Maria Hałaburda (played by Mariusz Pujszo, who also wrote the script), a washed-up director of morally serious films now scraping by on welfare. His luck seems to turn when wealthy producer Marek Obraniak (Marek Włodarczyk) offers him a chance to direct an ambitious film about the romance between Napoleon and Maria Walewska, with the alluring Manuealla (Maja Frykowska) cast as the lead. However, it soon becomes clear that the producer has ulterior motives: under the guise of an artistic project, he plans to shoot an erotic version for the Asian market. Set in a Wielkopolska manor, the film spirals into a series of gags about clapperboards, buttocks, and misunderstandings. Sounds absurd? It is, but not in a fun way—more like 91 minutes of cringe.
