Debbie gets a spot on the roster of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, which is referenced only as “Texas” throughout the movie. The only problem is that Debbie doesn’t have enough money to get there on her own, and her mom doesn’t want to help her, so her friends decide to help her out, and they all get small jobs around town to raise money. One day, Debbie is approached by her boss, Mr. Greenfeld, who first offers $10 to see her breasts, another $10 to touch them, and finally another $10 to suckle them. She realizes that they can get more money by performing sexual favors. She finally gets to go when Mr. Greenfeld offers to pay for everything if Debbie helps him realize his fantasy and let him “score a touchdown”.
Debbie has a chance to audition for the Texas Cowboy’s cheerleaders. She needs to raise cash fast since her audition is only two weeks away. Debbie with the help of her friends’ devise a sure fire plan in which they offer men sexual favors in return for the money needed to go on the trip to Texas.
Debbie Does Dallas is one of the most iconic adult films ever made with its catchy title and its seductive poster art. When this film was released nearly thirty years ago in 1978 adult cinema was still illegal and operated underground for fear of being arrested. The movie is far from perfect and most of its legend has come about because of the notoriety the film has garnered through the years. The producers were sued by the Dallas Cowboys and the star of the Bambi Woods making her film debut would disappear into oblivion a few years later. The film was directed by Jim Clark who also would have a brief career in adult cinema in which he would only direct six films. Debbie Does Dallas was his second film and its visual style is evident from the get go as every inch of every frame are used to there fullest. The way in which he frames his actors during their sex scenes is nearly flawless and always inventive. Another interesting aspect of the film is that the crew that worked on Debbie Does Dallas and its screenwriter Maria Minestra don’t have any other film credits besides this film. The films weakest asset is without a doubt its screenplay which is an average story at best and its serves its main purpose as a skeleton for the sex that drives the film.The star and main attraction of the film is actress Bambi Woods who stars as Debbie. Bambi Woods has an awkwardness about her that is most likely due to her inexperience as she looks like she is just going through the motions for pay. The film makes the audience wait until its final scene before Bambi Woods has her first sex scene and it is arguably one of the hottest moments in the film. Actor Robert Kerman under the alias Richard Balla plays Mr. Greenfield Debbie’s boss and his pursuit of Debbie are some of the best moments in the film. Two adult cinema super studs Eric Edwards and Herschel Savage have parts in the film. Also look for golden age of adult cinema starlet Arcadia Lake in one of her first roles. The majority of the rest of the cast is mostly made of up performers who only made a handful of films. The film has seven sex scenes two of which are BJ only scenes. The best ones are the orgy; in the girls shower; and Debbie in her cheerleader costume with Mr. Greenfield. Ultimately Debbie Does Dallas technically may not be one of the best adult films ever made still its reputation as a classic of the golden age of adult cinema is deserved.
